Answer:

The Mongol invasion effected the Delhi Sultanate in the following ways:

1. Both Alauddin Khalji and Muhammad Tughlaq raised a standing army against the Mongal.

2. Aluaddin constructed a new garrison town called Siri for his soldier while Muhammad Tughlaq emptied Delhi-i-kunha of its soldier and garrisoned there.

3. In other to feed the soldier large taxes were imposed on farmers.

4. Aluaddin chose to pay in cash than in iqtas. His administrative were highly effective due to cheap prices and efficient supplies of goods in the market. Muhammad Tuglaq created a token currency to pay his soldier. His administrative reign was disaster and he disbanded his army.

Aluaddin was able to withstand the threat of invasion of Mongols. Muhammad administrative measures failed, however, he planned to attack the Mongols which was first in the history of Delhi Sultanate.
