The society of friends of the constitution after 1792 renamed the society of jacobins, friends of freedom and equality, commonly known as

jacobins club. The members of this club mainly belong to the less prosperous sections of the society. They included small shopkeepers, shoe makers, daily wages workers etc. Their dress code was quite similar to the dock workers. Later this club became the most influential political club during the French revolution of 1789.
