✔ Revolt against The British

✿ People in different parts of India had been protesting against the exploitative policies of British. The revolt of 1857, according to historians, is an important landmark in Indian history. The revolt was started by Indian soldiers in the British army. The reason for the revolt was the introduction of the Enfield rifle. A rumour spread that The cartridges of rifle contains the fat of pigs and cows. Before loading it into the gun, the soldiers have to put it in their mouth which was against the religious sentiments of both Hindus and Muslims.

✿ The revolt continued for 2 Years before It was crushed by British. The mutiny failed because the lack of proper leadership and planning. British had better trained soldiers and superior weapons than Indians. Also some Indian Rulers helped the British
