The use of black money in elections is a sore point. But, spending black money does not mean that you will win. If it did, no incumbent - who can generate plenty of black money - would lose.
Even the current attempt to sync Central and State elections is a waste of time. Perhaps it costs more. But, we get our money’s worth for the extra cost - which is flexibility. We can hold elections as circumstances demand.
India has many other pressing needs. Electoral reform - we can look at it perhaps ten years later. In the meantime, let’s focus on real economic and social issues that demand urgent attention.
