Hi, please consider the answer given below;
Subhas Chandra Bose's father had asked him to write the Civil Services Examination. But Bose was eager to work as a freedom fighter for India. He wanted to join the Freedom movement. On knowing this, his father criticized him, that he was avoiding the exam as he was afraid of passing the exam.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was respectful to his parents, however, mentally he was against joining the civil service under the British Government.
But to honour his father’s wish, he appeared in the exam and secured 4th place with 1st rank in English subject: he joined the civil service but he left the job later to join the National Congress Party.
