Maasai society consists of retired and elder men as their chiefs and decision were made by these people.  Later, British appointed the Chiefs for this group and gave income from pastrol and non-pastrol source, which made them rich and get involved in the trade.  This in turn made them to lend money to the poor neighbours for paying their taxes.  Their wives and children took care of the land and cattle.
