Due to the weak rulers after firoz shah tughlaq the empire collapsed.

Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq adopted the policy of annexing the conquered territories of south. Muammad Tughlaq led it to perfection. But this policy proved against the permanent intrest of empire.
