One of the reasons of failure of first war of independence was that it was spread in limited areas. The entire South India, Punjab and the territory towards its north and west, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh remained almost out from the revolt.

british did false promises with as also only limited state involved in freedom movement .British promiseed that after first world war british if India support them then after world war they gave freedom but that didn't happen .they wanted for rule India several decades .
