Following are the causes of conflict

1. The company needed a puppet ruler but couldn't find any.

2,After the death of Alivardi Khan, Sirajuddaulah became the nawab of Bengal.

He asked the company to stop melding in the political affairs of his domination, stop fortification and pay revenues.

3. After negotiations failed, Nawab marched with his 30,000 thousands soldiers to the English Factory at Kassimbazar, captured the company officials and locked the warehouse, disarmed all englishmen and blockade English ships.

Siraj ud Daulh was an able ruler and thus he restricted the British from carrying out any campaigns in his territory...His actions were not to the liking of the English and thus they waged the battle of Plassey against him
