At the battle of Dien Bien Phu, the french forces were smartly and carefully handled by the Vietminh soldiers. They used the long grass and nature around them to their advantage, pushing aside the smart remark by their captain that by noon(im not sure of this fact) they would win and take control over the place.

The reasons were-

-The valley that the French went through was flooded during monsoon.

-The vietminh used the long grass to their advantage to place anti aircraft guns and large machinery.

-They bombed down any plane of the French, thus there was no food and articles reaching them.

-The French air strip was destroyed due to immense bombing by the Vietnam soldiers, thus making it impossible to land a flight, that is if they survived the anti aircraft bombing, which is easier said than done.

Heyyyyy mate

.....

here is ur answer...

At Dien Bien Phu the French forces were smartly handled by the Vietminh forces led by General Vo Nguyen Giap. The French Commander, Navarre, faced several problems in the battle.

(i) The valley where French garrisons were located flooded in the monsoon.

(ii) The area was covered with bushes, making it difficult for the troops and tanks to move, or trace the Vietminh anti-aircraft guns hidden in the jungle.

(iii) Supplies and reinforcements could not reach the French garrison.

(iv) The wounded French soldiers could not be taken to the hospitals.

Hope it helps u.......
