Russia entered world war 1 relatively underdeveloped. While the country had taken significant steps forward in the 20 years prior to the war. It was less industrialised than allies, Russia’s navy had been in a conflict with japan in 1904, 1905.there was also a lot of internal strife. There was weak leadership, it cling to autocracy despite changing times there were low wages poor working conditions and hazards of industrialisation and new revolutionary movements believed that work place run government should replace czarist rule
