the passes in the mountains of Sulaiman and the kirthar in North-west have let land to Punjab being a gateway to India for foreign Invaders till 18th century Persian Greek kushan, turk, mongol and mughal foreign invaders come to this passes as their passes let them directly to Punjab from Central Asia. during the Sultanate Period 1206 to 1525.the boundaries of Punjab extended from Lahore to Peshawar during the Mughal period 1525 to 1707. the Punjab was divided into two provinces namely Lahore suba and multan suba. most of the time Punjab was influenced with Mughals and Sultan that was the cause of spread Islam in Punjab

Punjab is situated near Pakistan and you can find many Punjabi Muslims who come from eastern Pakistan.
