What were the changes that could be seen in the relationship. ....portrait of a lady?

in the village the author and the Grand mothers are good friends and have a good relationship in between them ..the turning point in their friendship came when they came to live in the City . The author was sent to an English school where they taught him Western science and learning. The grandmother was upset .She did not know English and had no faith in western science .She was unhappy that they did not teach anything about God and religion . She withdrew herself into silence when she came to know that the author was given music lessons .When the author went to the university ,he was given a separate room. The bond of friendship snapped. But the feeling of love and affection for Each Other did not change .The grandmother went to see the author of at the railway station when he was going abroad for some years .She even went to the station to receive him after 5 years .The author too had nothing but affection for her. To celebrate his Homecoming ,the grandmother sang songs in the company of some women from the neighborhood. She tired herself, develop fever and died .
