When Kezia was alone in her house, but under Alice the cook she was afraid to sleep alone, as she usually slept with her grandmother.
When she tried to sleep, she dreamt about a butcher with a knife which merely scared her and she started to call her grandmother but found her father beside her bed. Her father picked her up and made her sleep beside him.
Kezia's father slept before her and she understood that her father was very much tired to be like her neighbour. She also had a feeling of protection with him. This all made her changed her feeling towards her father
