Blue rebellion that broke out in 1859 resulted in the collapse of indigo cultivation in bengal. Farmers stopped growing indigo as it exhausted the soil and they couldn't cultivate food crops

Indigo cultivation in Bengal made the soil loose it's fertility . Therefore in India people stopped it's cultivation by blue revolution in 1859
