What were the consequences of awadh movement?

1) In Awadh peasants were led by Baba Ramchandra which was started against talukdars and landlord who demanded from peasants high rents and other taxes.

2) Peasants had to work at landlords' farms without any payment. the peasant movement demanded reduction of revenue, the abolition of social boycotts by oppressive landlords.

3) As a result, Jawaharlal Nehru went around villages in Awadh and tried to understand the grievances of villagers around Awadh. By October, the Oudh Kisan Sabha was set up and it was headed by Jawaharlal Nehru and Baba Ramchandra.

4) When the non-cooperation movement began, Congress made many efforts to integrate the Awadh peasant struggle into mass and wide struggle.

5) But, the peasant movement developed many forms and events which made this movement take a violent turn in many places. This made Congress unhappy and hence could not approve the struggle further.
