Robert Clive introduced the dual gornment in Bengal in 1765 which lasted upto 1772.Under this system,Mir Jafar was placed back on the throne and handed over the powers of military and criminal jurisdiction. The company had all powers but no responsibilities and the Nawab had all responsibilities but no power or resources to run the administration
