The ancient Mesopotamian civilizations were located between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, while Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro were both located in the valley of the Indus river. ... Both had polytheistic religions, although less is known of the Indus one due to the lack of deciphered written texts.

Mesopotamia
The Mesopotamians believed in many gods . Every city had its own special god. They had temples made also know as ziggurat. They worshiped the forces of the nature like the sun , rain, moon and stars . The king was the main preist and was know as the representative of god on earth . mesopotamians may have believed in life after death as drinking vessels ,ornaments and weapons have been found in some graves
Harappa
There were no temples found, instead numerous similar looking clay figures of a female deity have been found . A three faced figure seated in a yogic posture and surrounded by various animals engraved on a seal , this was probably the mother goddess . Discovery of a large no. of amulets suggested that people probably wore them as lucky charms as protection from the evil spirits.the Harappans too believed in life after death since they buried the dead with ornaments , food items etc.
