Liberals were against the unlimited power of dynastic rulers. They wanted to protect the rights of individuals against governments. They were in favour of a representative, elected parliamentary government with an independent judiciary.Radicals favoured a government based on the majority of a country's population. Unlike liberals, they were against the privileges of great land owners and wealthy factory owners.
