While using manuscripts, the historians face many difficulties like, the manuscripts were written by the hands, where there were major differences between the two copies. There were also many changes occurred at the time of copy them. Because of this, the historians have to read the many versions of the manuscript to understand what actually had written. 

There were no printing press to copied it.this is a serious problem because we rarely find the original script of author today.we are totally dependent on the copies made by later scribes.as a result historians have to read different manuscript versions of the same text.
