The main difficulty faced by the Lilliputians while shifting Gulliver was to raise and place him on the seven feet long and four feet wide wooden vehicle. For the purpose of lifting Gulliver the Lilliputians had to made eighty, one foot high poles and very strong cords that were as big as pack-thread. These were fastened by hooks to Gulliver's bandages. The bandages were tied round Gulliver's neck, hands, body and legs. It took less than three hours to raise. Four hours after starting the journey Gulliver was awakened by the sound of a ridiculous accident. Two or three Lilliputians had climbed up Gulliver's body and had put the sharp end of his half-pike a good way up Gulliver's left nostril. This tickled Gulliver's nose and made him sneeze violently, thus waking him up suddenly.
