1. The act provided for an elected Directors for the company for 4 yearswith 1/4th of them retiring every year.

2. It provided for the Governor general with a council of members to be appointed by the British government, with majority of decisions to be taken by the council with governor general only having a casting vote.

3. All correspondence related to administrative, military, revenue of India was to be put before the British government.

4. The British government thus, could exercise control over the company affairs in India.
