Transitional period lies in the 18th century Neoclassicism and also known as the Augustan age.

Explanation:

This phase is also known as the enlightenment age where there is reason,which saw the birth of a new literary movement which was also influenced by the ideas of Newton where science became the new authority and the governing principle.

Rules of good writings were published.

Augustan because they used to compare that very period with the Emperor Augustus of ancient Rome which has a political stability,splendor and tranquility ,meanwhile attacking everything that tends to upset the stability,this phase was characterized by spirit of enlightenment which was dominant on the concept of man in society,precise and correct usage of language.

This phase is also known as Pre-romantic age.
