Answer:
Good aspects:
- The Mughal Empire is known for its beauty, art, and culture. Being a Mughal emperor, he too was fond of art and appreciated artists in his court.
- He supported religious tolerance. He did not discriminate against non-Muslim communities and held them in the same regard as Muslims.
- He extended his rule in the northern and central parts of India in order to prevent invasions from neighbouring kingdoms.
Bad aspects:
- He was considered a weaker ruler than past Mughal rulers as he could not stop the multiple invasions and looting that happened in India during his rule.
- By the time he started ruling over parts of India, the East India Company had already taken over different parts of the country. His kingdom slowly became dependent on the revenues collected by the East India Company.
- His religious tolerance was not supported by his Muslim peers and noblemen, and lot of conversions took place under his rule.
- He slowly came under the influence of bribery and corruption and did not look after the affairs of the state.
