ACCORDING TO THE UPRISING OF INDIA IN 1857.
The sepoys were facing to the many problems coming forward such as they were given less salary as compared to the British soldiers about 10% less they also have to serve crossing the ocean without any additional BHATTA (Salary) they were not given any allowances

The sepoys were paid much less than the British soldiers. They were also treated unfairly by their British officers. All high posts in the army were reserved for the British. No indian could get higher post than subedar the foreign service allowance or Bhatta was discontinued.
