Here's Your Answer!

Gulliver's first impression was one of astonishment. I was in the utmost astonishment, and roared so loud that they all ran back in a fright; and some of them, as I was afterwards told, were hurt with the falls they got by leaping from my sides upon the ground.

Answer:

When Gulliver woke up from his sleep, he could not get up and realized that his arms and legs were fastened to each side of the ground. His hair, which was thick and long was also tied down in the same manner. As he was lying down, he could only look upwards and the sun shone bright on his eyes.

He could sense something moving on his left leg and felt that it was advancing towards his breast and coming almost up to his chin. When he tried to get a view of this living creature he found it to be human creature not six inches high, carrying a bow and arrow in his hand and a quiver on his back.

Gulliver realized that there was not just one, but almost many similar creatures. At the sound of Gulliver's roar, they all ran back in fright and some of them were hurt with the falls they got by leaping from the sides onto the ground. This was the initial outlook that Gulliver had when he opened his eyes.
