An International Conference on "Impact of Swami Vivekananda's Voyage to the West" was arranged by Center for Indian Studies at University of Massachusetts for first time to collect scholars from academia, research institutions and Ramakrishna movement on June 28 & 29, 2003.
Many issues from mystical co-incidents to Swami Vivekananda's similarity to modern science and society during two-day conference which was attended by 80 scholars and academics.
Professor Sukalyan Sengupta Coordinator of Conference defined his opening remarks that this conference was unique where it gives platform for academic scholars who researched about Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Mission/Vedanta Society movement, monks and nuns of Ramakrishna and intellectuals who had inspired by Swamiji and students for freely exchanging ideas and learning from one another.
