What were the intentions of partition of Bengal?

British divided Bengal in 1905 as Benal was the centre of power as well as trade in the west . So, British wanted to acquire those things by dividing. But Bengal was reunited afterwards. (Maybe in 1917)

Lord Curzon intention was that he knew very well that the hindus and muslims were lived in large numbers .by the partition of bengal he wanted that a wall established between two religion in short he wanted to broke the unity between them.
