Answer:

                              Articles 35 A and 370

Articles 35A and 370 were constitutional provisions that gave the state of Jammu and Kashmir a special status. The first thing to be noted about these articles were that they were temporary provisions. Some of the special privileges granted to residents of Jammu and Kashmir were:

1. No one from any other part of India could buy land in Jammu and Kashmir.

2. All laws passed in Indian Parliament could not be applied to Jammu and Kashmir.

3. Kashmiris could have their own constitution and flag.

4. Only residents of J & K could take part in electing the state Government.

5. Any lady who married outside the state would lose all rights.

The bitter truth is the people in power in J&K used these articles for their vested interests. As a result J & K became hub of terrorism and religious fanaticism.

However, on August 5, 2019 the Indian Government under the leadership P.M. Modi and Home Minister Amit Shaw, the bills abrogating these articles were passed with majority in both the houses of the Parliament.
