Non-Cooperation movement was started by Gandhi Ji in 1920 to drive the Britishers out of the country and Khilafat movement was organised under the leadership of Mohammad Ali and Shaukat Ali (popularly known as Ali brothers), Abul Kalam Azad, Hasrat Mohani and others to force the British government to undo the injustice .

Khalifat Movement: It was started in the year between 1920-1921 in India under the leadership of Ali brothers,Muhammad Ali and Shaukat Ali. Through this movement the muslims in India protested against the British and demanded protection of the rights of the Sultan of Turkey.

Non-Cooperation Movement: The movement was known as Non-Cooperation Movement because Gandhiji asked people to boycott the British in every field.Thousands of students left schools and colleges.British goods were burnt in bonfires. Titles were surrendered.Even people gave up government jobs.It had a powerful effect on the people.It seemed as if freedom was on the doorstep.
