Main features of Harsha's administration .

Explanation:

Harsha Vardhana's administration and emperor was perhaps one of the most efficient administration of the Vardhana Dynasty.

The empire was systematically distributed into provinces for the smooth running of the empire. These provinces were further divided into districts then villages.Though all administrative, legislative, judicial and military powers were directly under his control, he always took suggestions and advice from his council of minsters.

The Harsha's administration did not imposed heavy taxes but he reduced the tax burden of his subjects. He imposed only one-sixth of the tax on agriculture produce and used most of the tax money for public welfare and works. He paid his high official in terms of lands and not in cash. This was done to ensure no corrupt practice of amassing wealth through illegal taxation would be done by the officials.

It is believed that during Harsha's administration and rule his subjects were treated equitably and rationally. he provided an efficient and fair administration to his subjects.
