the main reason was that there was a high conflict between the army and british officials that the high posts were given only to british people and the lower post were given to the Indians . This conflict and chaos got fire with the rumor that british use the fat of pig and meat of cow making of covers of bullets then it resulted in widespread anger in army . These are some of the reasons why the revolt took place.
