The main objective of the Imperial Delhi Committee was the Viceroy of the time Lord Hardinge. The main objective of the Raisina Municipal Committee was allowed to impose a tax on buildings. The main objective of the Town Duties Committee was to administer small towns in our country.
Reasons and implementation of the committee:
- Imperial Delhi Committee was constituted on 25th March 1913 to overlook the construction of the new capital.
- Raisina Municipal Committee was constituted in April 1913 to build the new city. It is also known as the ‘New Capital Project’.
- Town Duties Committee was constituted in February 1916 which imposed taxes on buildings.
