Hello, here's ur answer:-
___________________________
Rutherford's gold foil scattering experiment or alpha scattering experiment is shown in the above picture.
As u can see, a beam of alpha particles Ray is projected towards a very thin gold foil.
The gold foil is surrounded by a screen.
When the alpha particles stroke on the screen, it was observed that most of the particles went straight, some get deflected at different angles while a few retraced their path and returned along the same path as they went inside.
Most of the particles going straight shows that atoms have a lot of empty space.
Some getting deflected shows that they stroke on the edge of some hard mass or maybe electrons.
A few retraced their path which shows that the rays hit on a hard mass and get deflected completely. This shows that the light electrons revolve around a dense mass of very small size in a large space which is empty.
HOPE IT HELPS YOU......

Explanation:

OBSERVATION:

1) most of the Alpha particle went undeflected

2) Few number of particles were deflected at same angle.

3) 1 in 1000 particles got deflected by 180 degree.

4) with the decrease in impact parameter, the scattering angle increases.

5) number of scattered particle decreases with increase in impact parameter.

CONCLUSION:

1) most of the space in an atom is empty.

2) the positive particle in an atom are concentrated in a very small space called as nucleus.

3) also since the atoms in much heavier so this should be more particle having same mass.

4) size of nucleus is future tens of Ferimeter.

hope it's help you ♥️❤️❤️
