What were the occupations of the people during the Maurya period ?

Here is a list of the different occupations which has been followed by the people.

1. Farming

2. Pastoral farming

3. Carpentry

4. Masonry

5. Government officers

6. Many people employed in Royal army.

These were the major occupation those days because no industries were established during that time period and most of the people do only these occupations.

Farming was the most important occupation in which fifty percent of the people work during Maurya Empire.
