Due to the Invisible man’s strange appearance many people questioned about his occupation on which Mrs. Hall would explain that he was an experimental investigator.
This didn’t stop other villagers to give their own opinions. One of the largely talked view suggested by Teddy Henfrey was that the stranger was a criminal who was trying to escape from justice by disguising himself.
Another villager had a theory about Griffin being an anarchist who is preparing explosives.
Yet another view explained that he was a harmless lunatic.
