Some Policies and Administrative causes that led to The Revolt of 1857 are:
I. Nawabs had started to lose their powers. As the company had no longer granted any freedom to them.
ii. The peasants and Landlords no longer had their properties as they were snatched from them by The Company.
One Main cause of The Uprising was that Lord Dalhousie had passed out a policy known to be 'Doctrine of Lapse' which did not obliged for the annexation of any kingdom whose ruler did not have a male heir for their kingdom.
