1.it benefited the government instead of cultivators 2. the revenue demand were too high unable to pay the demand the ryots fled from countryside and villages become a deserted in many reasons . 3. in case of flood and feminine to the present had to pay the entire land revenue for which they had to take loans that was the disadvantages of the system

Explanation:

Under this system , indigo cultivation was done by riots.The planters made the ryots to sign a contract (satta).

Sometimes they pressurised the village headman to sign it on behalf of the ryots.After signing it the ryots got cash advances frm the planters.But after taking the loan the riot was committed to grow indigo on at least 25% of his land holding.

But the planters always bought indigo at low prices and hence the riots were always in debt trap.
