England had the advantage of superior technology and so was able to achieve mass production of goods at cheaper cost.It sold goods at cheaper rates in the colonies which disturbed their export market. And as a result, India became importer of textiles from England in the 19 th century . However India was a major produce and importer of cotton textiles till the 18 th century. This entire process has been termed as deindustrialisation.
