Hey there buddy. The answer to your question is.

.
Asoka was a great and valiant warrior who was very powerful but as times past he became aware that violence isn't the answer to everything. He became a disciple and follower of Lord Gautam Buddha. He wanted to solve the problems of people in many ways.
He tried to preach dhamma and peace among the common people. He wanted to stop the animal sacrifice system and the bad quarrels between people.
He even built the famous Sanchi stupa for the common people.
With regards.

There were a number of problems that troubled Ashoka. He wanted that the slaves should be treated like all other human beings and there should be no religious conflicts. There were quarrels in the family and among the neighbours. Slaves and servants were ill-treated. He decided to come over this problem and try to solve such other problems with the introduction of his dhamma.
