What were the qualities that attract everyone towards helen?

Helen was an active and exited girl before being attacked by illness and falling blind . She had begun to show signs of eagerness and self asserting disposition. At six months she could say "how d'ye " and once she had attracted the whole family by speaking out "Tea,Tea,Tea" just plainly.

These were all the signs and qualities of Helen that attracted everyone towards her before she fell ill.
