1. The Srilankan govt had adopted the policy of majoritarianism.
2. Buddhism was declared as official religion
3. Sinhala was recognised as official language(Act of 1956)
4. Sinhala were given preference in govt jobs and in universities.
Ultimately Tamils started organising themselves and LTTE was formed . A civil war broke out.
