✔️Reasons for launching non cooperation movement were:

1) To bring about unity among the people. To inculcate a sense of nationalism.

2) To paralyze the British administration by not cooperating with them. To make the British realize that they cannot function without the active support of Indians.

3) To bring about Hindu Muslim unity and to attain Swaraj.

4) To avenge the wrong done by the Government in Punjab (Jallianwala Bagh Massacre) in a non violent way.

✔️Mahatma Gandhi in his book Hind Swaraj  outlined the following reasons for launching the movement:

1) Mahatma Gandhi declared that British rule was established in India with the cooperation of  Indians, and had survived only because of this cooperation.

2) He believed  that we need to paralyze and cripple the British administration and to make them realize that they cannot function without the active support of the Indians.

3) It is because of this, he gave a call for non cooperation that is not to cooperate with the British and asked people of India to boycott of civil services, army, police, courts and legislative councils, schools and foreign goods. This will severely damage British interests in India.

Answer:

Noncooperation movement, an unsuccessful attempt in 1920–22, arranged by Mahatma Gandhi, to influence the British government of India to grant self-government, or swaraj, to India. It existed one of Gandhi's first scheduled acts of large-scale civil disobedience (satyagraha)

Explanation:

Reasons for the launching of the Non-Cooperation Movement

Indians existed very hopeful that their difficulties would end after the First World War was over. But that did not occur.

The enforcement of the Rowlatt Act in 1919: The Act provided the government enormous powers to repress political movements and permitted the imprisonment of political prisoners without trial for two years. Mahatma Gandhi established a movement against these unjust laws. But seeing the violence spread he named off the movement. This had been a widespread activity no doubt but was restricted to cities and towns. Gandhiji now desired to launch a more broad-based movement in India.

The Khilafat issue: The First World War ended with the defeat of Ottoman Turkey. As a consequence, a harsh peace treaty was imposed on the Ottoman emperor—the spiritual head of the Islamic earth the Khalifa. Mahatma Gandhi was selected to form a Non-Cooperation Movement in the help of Khilafat as well as Swaraj. In his well-known book Hind Swaraj he expressed that British rule was launched in India with the cooperation of Indians and had stayed only because of this cooperation. He was sure that if Indians declined to cooperate British rule in India would collapse and swaraj would arrive. Hence he started Non-Cooperation Movement with complete vigor.
