The correct answer for this question is letter C. Newland's Law of Octaves was rejected mainly because it could not hold good for elements heavier than calcium. The relationship between the octaves started to break down since it was unable to accommodate newly discovered elements. It was found that the Newlands law of Octaves was applicable only upto calcium, as after calcium every 8th element did not possess properties similar to that of the first. ... Thus, We can say that Newland's Law of Octavesworked well with lighter elements only.

Thanks
