What were the reasons for the failure of Newlands’ law of octaves ?

☑️It was found that the Newlands law of Octaves was applicable only upto calcium, as after calcium every 8th element did not possess properties similar to that of the first.

1 . The classification didn't work with heavier elements beyond calcium , as more elements were discovered they couldn't be fitted in the octaves

2 . Newland adjusted cobalt and fluorine in same column despite of the difference in their chemical properties

3 . Iron which resembles cobalt is placed very far from it
