The reason is discrimination among sinhala speakers and tamil speakers sri lanka from starting is taking all step for upliftment of only sinhalas they made govt. Jobs only available for sinhala they r protecting and spreading only buddhism and they r giving seats in universities to only sinhala causing riots and wars(civil war) destroying culture and indentity of srilanka hope it help u then plz make me the brainliest answer

All this soon turned into a Civil War, thereby, causing distress in the nation.
