* although there were uprisings in many parts of india in 1857 ,they were not coordinated .there was no solid plan to end foreign rule.
*the rebellion was not supported by many people.there were important rulers and sepoys who stayed loyal to the british.these people helped the british put down the rebellion in many areas.
*the rebels did not have good weapons or proper means of communication.
*the rebels were brave and heroic but did not have a proper leader to guide them.
