all the things are similar in colonial management of the forests in Bastar and in Java only one difference is there that in India Britishers were ruling and in Java dutch's were ruling.

Although there were different rulers in Bastar and Java(ie. British in India and Dutch in Indonesia) both had some similarities which are:-
1. Both had severe forest laws and a Forest Service Department.
2. The forests were desired to only grow hardwood trees that were to stand straight.
3. Both excluded the indigenous population out of their own howmes, ie. forests, and called it scientific forestry.(although not scientific at all).
