the similarity in those are in management of Bastar was the reservation of forests was temporarily suspended and the area reserved was decreased to roughly half of that was planned before 1910.on other hand java ,saminists protested by laying down on their land

only be cut for specific purposes and from specific forests under close supervision. Villagers were

punished for grazing cattle, transporting wood without a permit or travelling on forest road with horse

carts or cattle. This was the similarity between the British (in Bastar) and Dutch (in Java) management of

forests.
