Racial discrimination was the main factor for discontent of Indians. Indians were not allowed to mix with Europeans. British also started to interfere in religious and cultural affairs of Indians.

This generated a large discontent between the people of India. They also passed some legislation which was against the religious practices Indians used to follow and hence Indians started to doubt the objectives of British which resulted into revolt in 1957.
